When the calendar turns to October, I fill the menu with every pumpkin recipe I can get my hands on. For me, pumpkin is the surest sign that Autumn has arrived. As a pumpkins are now in season and smell of cinnamon in the pumpkin pie is in every house, you have to try this delicious smoothie as well!
Pumpkin itself is nutritious — it’s full of Vitamins A, C, E, and K, and also contains iron, magnesium, potassium, and manganese.
The recipe is very simple but it makes it up with plenty of flavors. To make my smoothies sweeter, I usually add one banana and I’ve included it for this smoothie recipe as well. Made with just a few simple ingredients, this low-calorie smoothie is gluten free, vegan, and clean-eating too—the perfect guilt-free drink. Enjoy this pumpkin smoothie as a quick breakfast and add in some protein powder or oat meal.
- 1 medium banana
- ½ cup pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)
- ½ tsp Turmeric spice
- 1-2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 cup ice cubes if you don’t use frozen banana
- ¾ cup almond milk
- Pumpkin seeds
- 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glass and serve.
