DIY: Natural face cleanser

Making your own facial cleanser is much easier than you might think. Now that I have more knowledge about the ingredients used by multinational corporations, I’m more selective about the personal care products I use, and usually prefer to make my own.

The Oil Cleansing method has grown increasingly popular over the past few years, and for good reason; cleaning your face with oil makes skin soft and radiant. Making your own facial cleanser is a great way to avoid putting chemicals on your skin. I feel very blessed that I’ve always had fairly good skin, without many breakouts. For awhile, I struggled with dry and tight skin and I constantly had to slather on moisturizer, especially in the winter time.

Today I will show you how to use Oil Cleansing method with Apple cider vinegar and olive oil. Apple cider vinegar may help restore your skin’s pH levels to help soothe breakouts, prevent clogged pores, and keep skin from becoming too dry or too oily. Its pH of about 5.5 is very close to the ideal pH of human skin.

Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 2 parts water, and shake well. Apply to a clean face with a cotton ball or pad. Once your skin dries, put on your usual daily moisturizer. Store it in a refrigerator.
